Veterinary Heart Care (VHC) is a veterinary practice that focuses solely on cardiology.  Dr. Herb Maisenbacher, a board certified veterinary cardiologist, is an expert in the care of animals with heart disease.   Using specialized tests, we can diagnose specific heart problems, and then with our extensive experience and knowledge, we prescribe the best treatment plan for your pet.

We offer traditional appointments weekly in our Virginia Beach and Yorktown locations.  Mobile consultations are also available at local veterinary clinics all over the Hampton Roads area, making cardiac specialty medicine accessible to all animals.

Regardless of where Dr. Maisenbacher sees your pet, we always work together with your local veterinarian  to manage your pet’s heart health by coordinating the optimal care and follow-up. During every evaluation, we will review all previously performed test results, examine your pet, and decide if additional tests are necessary. We perform an extensive record review to make sure no tests are repeated unnecessarily. VHC is able to perform specialized cardiovascular diagnostic tests, such as ECG and echocardiography, and offer treatments that may not otherwise be available to your local veterinarian.

We know that your pet is a loved member of your family, therefore we strive to provide care with empathy and compassion.
